Community Support

Journey of Hope in the Community

Grief impacts whole classrooms, workplaces, congregations, and communities. At Journey of Hope, we partner with schools, organizations, places of worship, and community leaders to provide compassionate, immediate support after a death or significant change.

Whether it’s a sudden loss at a school, a tragedy within a faith community, or a workplace grieving a colleague, our team creates a safe, calm space where people can begin to process their grief, ask questions, and feel supported in the midst of shock and confusion.

We serve schools, colleges and universities, youth-serving nonprofits, churches, businesses, sports teams, and community groups. We can provide resources, consultation, and training to help you support your community.

Journey of Hope in the Community

  • Onsite Acute Grief Support

We provide small-group grief sessions and one-on-one support led by trained facilitators and JOH staff. These one-time or short-term groups help:

    ·   Normalize grief reactions

    ·   Build peer connection

    ·   Provide age-appropriate coping tools for children, teens, and adults

Groups are often separated by age or role (for example, students vs. staff), so everyone can feel supported in ways that fit their needs.

  • Educational Trainings

We believe every caring adult can make a difference in the life of a child who is grieving. That’s why we provide trainings designed to equip community members, educators, and mental health professionals with the tools, language, and confidence to support children and teens through grief.

    ·      Debrief sessions for staff and leaders

    ·   Practical resource guides

    ·   Consultation and customized trainings on grief and loss

These sessions help you support children and teens while also caring for your own well-being.

  • Journey of Hope Workbook and Tip Sheets

We’ve created a workbook for mental health professionals and additional tip sheets for anyone supporting grieving kids and teens. These resources are free to download and can be paired with our free educational webinars for even deeper learning.
